Course Description:

Over one-hundred real life pictures, scientific data and some edgy, real life scenarios and stories bring this class to life. Taught by a 25 year pest management veteran and certified entomologist, this course will significantly expand your knowledge base and equip you to better serve your real estate clients.

About the Instructor: Alan Feuer
Alan began his pest control career in 1989 following honorable discharge from the United Sates Marine Corps. He quickly fell into the focused discipline of termite management. During his 36-year career Alan inspected no less than 30,000 homes in the Central New Mexico area and has been involved in control efforts for termites and other wood insects at no less than 6,000 homes and commercial structures.
Alan has been a certified instructor for the New Mexico Real Estate Commission since 2001 and has taught the course “Understanding Wood Destroying Pests”, a core elective course, no less than 200 times to an estimated 2500-3500 real estate professionals throughout New Mexico.
Alan actively participated and has taught for both the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors (GAAR) and the Santa Fe Association of Realtors (SFAR) and has taught for the real estate associations of Las Cruces and San Juan County.
Alan earned his title of Associate Certified Entomologist (A.C.E.) in 2008 and was awarded the A.C.E. Professional for the year for 2017 by the Entomological Society of America. Additionally, he served as Chairman for the National Pest Management Association’s Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) Committee from 2017-2019.
Alan completed his pest management career in August of 2024 after serving in the position of Technical Director and Staff Entomologist for Preventive Pest Control during the prior 13 years. Alan continues to teach and consult for the Pest Management and Real Estate industries during his “pseudo-retirement”.
